Sava Square is part of the cultural and historical Savamala district, which occupies a significant part in the development of Belgrade and Serbia. The reconstruction is being carried out based on a project by the Spanish architectural team “Fenwick Iribaren Architects”, which won an international competition.

After the reconstruction, the traffic will be redirected to the roundabout of the square, which frees up space for pedestrians. The podium in front of the building of the former Railway Station is designed as a multifunctional space, ideal for various events. The space will be dominated by the monument to Stefan Nemanja, 23 meters high, and lush greenery and almost 300 seedlings will make this square one of the greenest parts of the city.
